Meghna Philip has a diverse range of work experience in the legal field. Meghna is currently working as the Deputy Director of the Impact Litigation Practice at The Bronx Defenders. Prior to this, they worked at Neighborhood Defender Service as a Special Litigation Attorney and later as a Staff Attorney in the Criminal Defense Practice. Meghna also served as a Johnnie L. Cochran Fellow at Neufeld Scheck & Brustin, LLP and as a Law Clerk at U.S. District Courts. Other experiences include working as a Student Advocate at the Juvenile Defender Clinic at the Legal Aid Society and at the New York Civil Liberties Clinic at the New York Civil Liberties Union. Meghna also worked as a Summer Associate at Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC and as a Summer Legal Intern at both The Bronx Defenders and the ACLU's Racial Justice Program. Additionally, they gained research experience as a Research Assistant to Professor Kenji Yoshino and Professor Alina Das at NYU School of Law.
Meghna Philip completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in International Relations from Brown University in 2011. Meghna then pursued their Doctor of Law (JD) degree at New York University School of Law from 2013 to 2016.
