Frank Principi

Frank J. Principi served three elected terms on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors. During his 20 years of service to the County he led efforts to finance and construct critical infrastructure – roads, bridges, schools, water/sewer lines, gas, electric, and telecommunications – in the fastest growing jurisdiction in the Commonwealth. His “Vision of New Woodbridge” included the revitalization of the Route 1 corridor through mixed-use, transit-oriented, and smart growth development. During his public sector career, he served on the County's strategic planning, transportation, land use, and tax community groups.

Mr. Principi served on several regional and state planning bodies, including the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (Chairman 2012), National Capital Region Emergency Preparedness Council (Chairman 2013, 2015), Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (Chairman 2016-2017), Northern Virginia Regional Commission, Virginia Association of Counties, and Potomac Hospital (acquired by Sentara). He also chaired Prince William County's Future Commission 2030, an 18-month effort to define the quality of life in the future. Mr. Principi maintains a leadership role in the Northern Virginia Regional Commission's M-495 Fast Ferry Stakeholder Group, an effort to launch ferry transit service on the Potomac River. Mr. Principi’s public service extends to Capitol Hill where he served on the US House of Representatives’ Energy and Commerce Committee and its Subcommittees on Transportation, Telecommunications, and Finance. His state government experience includes service as a lobbyist with the National Governors Association, where he was integral to the Governor’s response to 9/11.

Mr. Principi is a graduate of Leadership Greater Washington; a Public Health Fellow with George Washington University; Masters Candidate at the University of Maryland, College Park; and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in American History and Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is the recipient of Non-Profit Business of the Year awards from the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, Arlington Diocese, and Prince William Living Magazine.
