James Toal is a Barrister-at-Law at The Bar of Northern Ireland since September 2015, with prior leadership experience as Chair of the Young Bar Association and membership in the Bar Council from 2018 to 2020. James serves on the Government Legal Service Counsel D Panel and the Attorney General for Northern Ireland's Junior Counsel Panel. In addition to legal practice, James worked as a Tutor and Examiner at Queen's University Belfast, specializing in various law modules while marking coursework and examination scripts. Previous roles include Legal Advisor at Citizens Advice Bureau during vocational training, Treasurer for the Orchestre de l'UT1 Capitole, and Flute Teacher/Ensemble Coordinator at Rathmore Grammar School. James holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Studies and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Queen's University Belfast, along with an Erasmus exchange program in Law at Université Toulouse 1 Capitole. Academic achievements include A-levels in French, Politics, and English Literature.
