Daphna Straus has had a diverse range of work experience. Daphna started their career as a Contracts Administrator and Music Programmer at Sony, where they handled contracts and royalty accounting for major artists and programmed a classical station for Sony's radio venture. Daphna then worked as a Senior Analyst at Fulcrum Analytics, Inc. before joining DOGNY - America's Tribute to Search and Rescue Dogs as a Project Manager. During their time at DOGNY, they successfully executed a NYC public art project that raised $3 million for canine search and rescue organizations. Daphna later became the Director of Project Development at The AKC Humane Fund, Inc. and Assistant Vice President of Business Development at the American Kennel Club. Daphna eventually rose to the position of Vice President, Brand Partnerships and Licensing at the American Kennel Club.
Daphna Straus holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in French Language and Literature with a concentration in Spanish from Swarthmore College. Daphna also completed a dual degree program in Communications Management MS/MBA from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University. Furthermore, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the Boston University College of Communication. Additionally, they have certifications in Managing Virtual Teams from LinkedIn, Qualified Licensing Practitioner (QLP) from Licensing International, and Animal Handling Practices from the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP). In 2009, Daphna also became an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator certified by the American Kennel Club.
