Kevin Schuttinger, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the education field. Kevin is currently serving as the High School Principal at The American International School of Muscat (TAISM) since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools as the Director of Teaching and Learning from July 2016 to July 2021 and as an Assistant Principal at the high school from July 2015 to June 2016. Kevin also worked at Minnetonka Public Schools as a Co-leader of TONKA<codes> K-8 Computer Programming Initiative, High School Dean of Students, and High School English Teacher from 2013 to 2015. From 2011 to 2013, they were a High School English Teacher at the American School of Dubai. Before that, they held various roles at Lighthouse Academy of Nations, including Lead Teacher, High School English Teacher, and Lead Special Education Teacher. Kevin started their career in education as a Teacher Collaboration/Community Outreach Volunteer for the Peace Corps from January 2004 to February 2006, where they worked on student-centered learning, community outreach, and English camps.
Kevin Schuttinger, Ph.D., earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English and Sociology from the University of California, Davis in 2003. Kevin later pursued their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Teaching at Hamline University, graduating in 2011. In 2018, Kevin completed their Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development with a focus on Education Policy and Leadership at the University of Minnesota. Additionally, they obtained certifications in K-12 Principal and Superintendent Licensure from the Minnesota Department of Education in 2015, and Teaching Certification in English Language Arts 5-12 from the Minnesota Board of Teaching in 2014. Kevin also holds a certification in Urban Teaching from Hamline University, obtained in 2010.
