Leslie Castillo has a diverse work experience in marketing and communications. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as a Marketing Manager at BJ's Wholesale Club, where they executed corporate marketing campaigns and organized in-store events. In 2006, they joined Ashton Brand Group as a Project Director, where they maintained relationships with clients and conducted brand-related market research projects. Starting in 2006 and until 2016, Leslie worked at AmWINS Group, initially as a Marketing Associate and later as the Director of Group Communications and Advertising. Their responsibilities included managing internal and external communications strategies, overseeing email and digital marketing, and providing communications direction and support to projects. Since 2016, they have been working at The American Equity Underwriters, Inc., first as the Director of Marketing and now as the Senior Vice President and Director of Marketing and Customer Experience. In their current role, Leslie oversees the company's marketing, event, and customer experience strategy and leads a talented team focused on ensuring AEU is perceived as a trusted partner in the maritime industry.
Leslie Castillo obtained a BSBA degree in Marketing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte from 2001 to 2005. In 2004, they also pursued a course on Strategic Advertising and Consumer Behavior at the University of Canberra. Additionally, Leslie Castillo obtained certifications in HubSpot Marketing Software and Inbound from HubSpot Academy in 2022.
