Claire Hawthorne is an accomplished medical professional currently serving as an Albert Schweitzer Fellow at The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship since April 2023 and as a second-year osteopathic medical student at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine since June 2022. Prior experience includes roles as a clinical research assistant at Kresge Eye Institute, a STEM Inclusion Student Liaison at Amherst College Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and research assistant in a lab at Amherst College focused on kinases structures. Additional experience includes volunteering at the Michigan Science Center, participating in the Summer Health Professions Education Program, interning at Wayne State University School of Medicine, and assisting at the Detroit Public Library. Claire earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American/Black Studies from Amherst College and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
