Jaterra Brown has work experience in various roles related to health management and sexual health education. In 2019, they worked at the Washington AIDS Partnership as an Americorps Vista, where they focused on increasing HIV/STI screenings, PrEP usage, and sexual health counseling in Washington, DC. Jaterra also developed a food access initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic and fundraised for local grocers and non-profits to address food insecurity. During the same year, they worked at Whitman-Walker Health as a Sexual Health Tester & Youth Facilitator/Educator, where they conducted HIV/STI and pregnancy tests and provided sexual health education and counseling in public schools. Jaterra also served as an Outreach Facilitator and Representative for LIT DC, a peer education service. In 2021, they joined The Health Management Academy as an Operations Associate, focusing on member insights.
