West Askew has held a variety of positions in the engineering and business fields since 2005. West began their career as an intern at LifeBlood Corporation in 2005, followed by an internship at A2H in 2007, where they performed forensic assessment, documentation, and compilation of damage to several structures. In 2010, they held internships at Google, Nest Labs (acquired by Google), and Key Biologics, LLC. West also worked as a Senior Design Project Intern at Medtronic. From 2011 to 2013, West worked as an R&D Engineer at Avinger Inc., where they developed OCT imaging, occlusion crossing, and atherectomy devices. From 2013 to 2015, they were the Lead Mechanical Engineer at Google [x], working on the Systems and Sensors team for the life sciences initiative. Finally, from 2015 to 2018, West was the CEO & Founder of FLO LABS, and since 2018 they have been the CEO & Founder of Thatch.
West Askew attended Santa Clara University from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a degree in Bioengineering with a focus on Medical Devices.
