Sofía Fernández de Retana, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Sofía most recently served as a Senior Clinical Research Associate for TFS HealthScience - Contract Research Organization, where they played a pivotal role in managing and coordinating clinical trials. Prior to this, they worked as a Regional Clinical Research Associate on behalf of Amgen for the same organization.

Before joining TFS HealthScience, Sofía worked at BTI Biotechnology Institute as part of the Clinical and Medical Affairs team, where they contributed to clinical and medical research activities. Sofía also gained valuable experience at Biocruces Bizkaia Instituto Investigación Sanitaria / Osasun Ikerketa Institutoa as a Clinical Researcher, focusing on study coordination, data management, and clinical research.

Sofía's research journey began during their time as a PhD student at Vall d'Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) and Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2), where they carried out research and completed their doctoral studies.
