John J. Camilleri has held a variety of roles in the technology sector. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Web Developer for am Language Studio and RTFX Ltd. From 2011 to 2017, they were a Ph.D. Student and Research Assistant at the University of Gothenburg. From 2017 to 2021, they worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Digital Grammars, where they were responsible for the company's entire tech stack and infrastructure, as well as customer relations. Currently, they are the Chief Technology Officer at Textual, a language technology company that helps e-commerce with scalable content creation and real-time translations in multiple languages. John J.'swork focuses on the use of Grammatical Framework and other language technologies within the company and improving the workflows around them, ensuring the scalability of the platform and architecture, and helping to expand to new domains outside of retail.
John J. Camilleri has an extensive educational history. John J. attended San Anton School from 1991 to 2002. In 2002, they obtained their A-Levels from GF Abela Junior College in Computing, Pure Maths, and Physics. John J. then attended the University of Malta from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. In 2012, they obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Chalmers University of Technology. John J. then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Science from the University of Gothenburg from 2013 to 2017. In addition, they obtained a Sound Engineering Certificate (1820) from City & Guilds in July 2005.
