Severn Tsui has a diverse range of work experience across multiple industries. Severn started their career at University of Waterloo, where they provided computing support in 2004 and 2005. Severn then worked as a Systems Administrator at Adiungo Ltd. from 2004 to 2005, and at Open Text in 2006.

Tsui then transitioned to the role of Application Developer at Symcor from 2007 to 2008, followed by a short stint as a Test Developer at Curtiss Wright Controls in 2008. In 2009, they worked as a BlackBerry Applications Developer at Research In Motion.

From 2010 to 2016, Tsui worked as a Software Developer at Pravala Inc., where they were responsible for contributing to one of their patents. Severn then joined Carnegie Technologies in 2016 as a Senior Software Developer Team Lead, leading a team of developers responsible for the back-end software for Carnegie's Internet of Things (IoT) product line. In this role, they were involved in various responsibilities, including working with product owners, engineering leads, and other teams to deliver desired features, managing and coaching a team of 9 people, and conducting interviews and hiring. Severn also gained experience in platform development using various technologies.

Most recently, Tsui joined TextNow in 2020 as a Senior Software Developer, where they are currently employed.

Severn Tsui's education history includes completing a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Severn started their academic journey at the University of Waterloo in 2003 and continued until 2010, when they successfully completed their degree. During their time at the university, Severn Tsui focused on the field of study of Computer Engineering.
