Hélder Almeida has worked in a variety of roles in the tech industry since 2006. From 2006-2007, they were a programmer at Sms Service and an intern (programmer .net c#/helpdesk) at Hilti. At Apond, they were a project manager/web developer from 2007-2010. From 2010-2011, they were a UX/UI Developer at ALERT Life Sciences Computing, S.A. During this time, they were responsible for the user experience of a clinical software called 'Paper Free Hospital'. From 2011-2017, they were a Software Developer at Universidade do Porto, where they were responsible for the 'Performance Evaluation' modules. Finally, from 2017-2022, they were a Lead Frontend Software Engineer and then a Staff Engineer at TestGorilla.

Hélder Almeida obtained a Licenciatura in Engenharia Informática from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto between 2002 and 2007. In March 2016, they also obtained a Project Management / PMBOK Short Course certification from ANJE.
