Alex Martin has a long and varied work history. In 2003, they began working as a Technology Assistant for the School District of Newberry County. In 2004, they began working part-time as both an Autopsy Technician and IT Administrator for Newberry Pathology Associates PA. In 2015, they joined The Iron Yard as a Product Engineer and Instructor Operations. That same year, they also began working as a Web Application Developer for EnVeritas Group (EVG). In 2017, they began working as a Senior Software Engineer for Grace Hill E-Learning for Property Management. In 2018, they joined Fortis as a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer. In 2019, they began working as a Senior Curriculum Engineer for App Academy. In 2020, they joined Test Double as a Staff Software Consultant. Finally, in 2021, they began working as a Technical Lead for Develop Carolina. Throughout their career, they have worked on software engineering, devops/infrastructure work, and writing training content.

Alex Martin attended Newberry College from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry/Forensic Science. In 2011, they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Ross University School of Medicine in the field of Medicine. In 2015, they attended The Iron Yard to pursue Front End Engineering. In 2013, they obtained a Cisco Certified Network Associate certification from Cisco.
