Simon Maple is an experienced technology professional with a robust background in developer relations and advocacy. Currently serving as the Founding Developer Relations at Tessl since May 2024, Simon also founded and leads the Virtual Java User Group, the world's first online-only Java User Group, which provides high-quality Java content globally. Previous roles include Principal Developer Advocate and Director of Developer Relations at Snyk, where Simon focused on educating developers about security in open source projects, and Director of Developer Relations at ZeroTurnaround, overseeing a team advocating for Java technologies. Simon has extensive international speaking experience at major conferences and has held various developer and technical roles at IBM, contributing to developer relations initiatives and software development. Simon holds a first-class honors degree in Computer Science from the University of Reading.
