Ralf Gomm is a highly experienced engineering professional, currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Tesla since May 2015, focused on systems architecture, firmware integration, and performance validation for Tesla's Energy Products, including Megapack and Powerwall. Prior roles at Tesla include Senior Systems Engineering Manager, where responsibilities encompassed the architecture of energy products and development of system requirements through rigorous modeling and validation strategies. Ralf's previous experience includes an Engineering Manager position at Parker Hannifin, leading global engineering initiatives in hybrid electric systems, and a founding role in the company's Hybrid Electric Business Unit. Ralf also served as a Senior Systems Engineer and Control Systems Engineer at Parker Hannifin, as well as a Research Consultant at Caterpillar Inc., where advanced motion planning algorithms were developed. Academic credentials include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago, an MSc in Mechatronics, and a Dipl. Ing. in Electrical Engineering from Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences.
