Jonathan Epstein has a diverse work experience spanning several roles in the field of software engineering and site reliability engineering. Jonathan is currently employed at Tesla Government Inc. as a Lead DevOps Engineer and Senior DevOps Engineer. Prior to that, they worked at Xometry as a Senior DevOps Engineer and Senior Site Reliability Engineer, where they managed CI/CD pipelines, maintained AWS infrastructure, and collaborated closely with the Data Science team. Before Xometry, they were employed at Message Systems, where they held the positions of Senior Site Reliability Engineer and Senior Software Engineer, focusing on developing new product features and deploying upgrades and installations using Ansible playbooks. Earlier in their career, they worked at Lab7 Systems as a Senior Software Developer, Howard Hughes Medical Institute as a Software Engineer (contractor), NIH/NICHD as a Staff Scientist and later as the Head of the Unit on Biologic Computation, NCBI as a Software Developer, and GTE Spacenet as an Engineer. Jonathan has a strong background in DevOps, site reliability engineering, and software development, with a particular focus on building and maintaining robust and high-reliability systems.
Jonathan Epstein completed their Ph.D coursework in Computer Science at the University of Maryland from 2006 to 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin between 1984 and 1989. Their educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, from 1981 to 1984.
