Valerie Merkle currently serves as the Senior Director of Medical & Scientific Affairs at Terumo Aortic and holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland, where Valerie develops and teaches courses on regulatory affairs in medical product development. Previous experience includes roles at Syntactx, where Valerie was the Associate Director of Regulatory Strategy, and at the FDA, where Valerie worked as a Lead Reviewer and Engineering Consult, providing recommendations on a multitude of pre-market regulatory submissions for vascular surgery devices. Valerie's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Arizona and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Bucknell University.
