Kin Y. has a strong background in the biosciences field. They began their career as a Postdoctoral Associate at The Scripps Research Institute in 2015. From there, they joined Gilead Sciences as a Research Scientist in September 2016 and later became a Senior Research Scientist in February 2019. In 2021, Kin Y. transitioned to Terremoto Biosciences, where they held the role of Senior Director before being promoted to Executive Director in February 2023.

Kin Y. pursued higher education in the field of Chemistry. From 2006 to 2010, they attended Syracuse University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Following this, from 2010 to 2015, Kin Y. attended the University of Chicago and completed a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.
