Matt Thompson, CPA, has a diverse work experience. Matt started their career as a Professional Baseball Player for the Abilene Prairie Dogs in 2012. In 2015, they joined EY as an Assurance Intern and later became an Assurance Services Staff. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Senior - Assurance Services at EY.

In 2018, Matt joined Alta Mesa Resources as a Financial Analyst before being promoted to Senior Financial Analyst in 2019. Matt worked there until 2020.

Currently, they are a Finance Associate at Terra Energy Partners LLC, where they started in 2020. Matt has held this position since July 2021. Additionally, they served as a Senior Financial Analyst at Terra Energy Partners LLC from 2020 to July 2021.

Matt Thompson, CPA completed their education with a Master of Accountancy degree from Baylor University - Hankamer School of Business in the field of Accounting in 2015. Prior to that, they pursued a non-degree program in Accounting at the University of North Texas from 2013 to 2014. In 2008, they graduated from McMurry University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree, majoring in Finance and minoring in Mathematics. In September 2016, they obtained their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.
