Phillip Crosby has worked in the electrical engineering field since 2007. Phillip began as an Electrician Apprentice at Murphy Electric, then worked as a Contractor Apprentice at Yankee Builders in 2008. In 2009, they joined the Appalachian Mountain Club as a Hut Crew Member, and in 2012 they worked as an Engineering Intern at Xcel Energy. In 2013, they were an Electrical Engineer Intern for Power and Control Systems at Sustainable Power Systems. From 2015 to 2020, they worked as an Analog/PCB Hardware Engineer at Plexus Corp., and they are currently an Electrical Engineer at Creation Technologies since 2020.

Phillip Crosby completed their high school education at St. Johnsbury Academy, graduating with a High School Diploma in 2008. Phillip then attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where they obtained a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering between 2008 and 2014. In 2015, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Electric Drivetrain Technology from The University of Colorado Colorado Springs and the University of Colorado Boulder. Phillip also obtained a Professional Certification in Power Electronics from the University of Colorado Boulder; Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Colorado Power Electronics Center in the same year.
