Thomas Marshall has had a long and varied career at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Thomas started in 1993 as a Senior Reactor Operator and worked their way up to Operations Shift Manager before leaving the company in 2007. Marshall returned to TVA in 2007 and held multiple roles, including Operations Superintendent, Work Control Manager, and Maintenance Manager. Thomas then served as an Advisor to the Plant Manager and later as an INPO Loanee. In 2012, Marshall became the Director of Safety and Licensing, responsible for monitoring nuclear safety, organizational effectiveness, and emergency preparedness activities. Thomas was promoted to Director of Nuclear Operations in 2013 and served in that role until 2017. Marshall was then appointed as Plant Manager until June 2020 when they became the Vice President of Nuclear Engineering. Their most recent position is Site Vice President of the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, which they have held since November 2020.
Thomas Marshall attended the United States Naval Academy from 1981 to 1985, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. Thomas also received a certification in "Building a Coaching Culture: Improving Performance Through Timely Feedback" from LinkedIn in 2022. Additionally, they have an affiliation with the Center for Creative Learning - LOI, although specific details regarding their degree, field of study, and duration of attendance are not provided.
