Zachary Waksal began their career in 2009 as Vice President of Business Development for Innovida Holdings, a Miami-based turn-key innovative construction materials manufacturing and development group. In 2012, they Co-Founded Building Blocks for Change, the sustainable construction arm for international aid, and became a Partner at Shibumi Development, an opportunistic real estate group focused on ground-up and value-add residential projects. In 2018, Waksal Co-Founded Ten To One Rum, a contemporary and elevated Caribbean Rum brand.

Zachary Waksal received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder between 2004 and 2008. Zachary then went on to receive a Master's Degree in Global Real Estate Development from New York University between 2014 and 2016. Additionally, they have completed four professional development courses at New York University and NYU School of Professional Studies, including a Construction Project Management Professional Development Gold Standard Course, a Navigating Zoning, Land Use, and Development Planning Professional Development Participation Course, a New York City Building Approvals, Permits, and Certificates of Occupancy Gold Standard Coursework, and a Residential Building Systems and Maintenance Professional Development Participation Course.
