Jan Macek has a diverse work experience history. Jan is currently the Co-founder & Co-CEO at The MAMA AI since March 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Services at TELMA AI starting from December 2021. Before these roles, Jan spent a significant portion of their career at IBM, where they held various positions including Development Manager - IBM Watson, Research Scientist, Project Manager - Dialog systems, and Research Scientist - Speech Recognition from 2008 to 2021. Jan also gained experience as a Software Engineer at Clearstream Banking in 2007, a Postdoctoral Fellow at University College Dublin from 2004 to 2007, and a Visiting Researcher at IBM, Centre for Adv. Studies, Dublin Software Lab from 2004 to 2007. Jan's early career includes a role as a Research and Development Engineer at ABB in 2000 and a Trainee in Business Administration at Ostfriesische Tee-Geselschaft in 1995.

Jan Macek has an extensive education history. Jan obtained a PhD in Artificial Intelligence & Biocybernetics from the Czech Technical University in Prague, graduating in 2004. Prior to their PhD, they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Technical Cybernetics from the same university, completing their studies in 2001. During the same period, they also pursued a short-term program at the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 2001, although no degree or field of study was specified.

In addition to their formal education, Jan Macek has also acquired a certification as a CEE Regional Technical Exchange Speaker (Level I) from IBM in April 2016.
