Felipe García Vivanco

Felipe García Vivanco has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various industries and roles. Felipe currently serves as the Global VP of Information Security at TelevisaUnivision since March 2023. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2023, they worked as the Chief Information Security Officer for Scotiabank, where they were responsible for directing the strategy, operations, and budget for the protection of the enterprise's information assets.

Before joining Scotiabank, Felipe held the role of CISO at Santander Global Tech from 2018 to 2019, where they oversaw the control of information security and the safeguarding of digital information. Felipe implemented and communicated the organization's digital information security policies and procedures and was responsible for business continuity planning.

From 2014 to 2018, Felipe worked at HSBC, initially serving as the Chief Control Officer of Operations, Services, and IT for Mexico, managing risks and improving controls in the operational backend of the bank. Later, they became the Head of Business Risk and Control Management for Operations, Services, and Technology for Mexico and Latin America, where they implemented preventive internal controls and improved the risk environment of the organization.

Felipe's earlier career includes roles at Philip Morris International as a Global Senior IS Auditor, Rapiscan Systems in compliance, risk management, and security, 3M as the Latin America Internal IT Audit Coordinator and Supervisor, Deloitte as an Auditor/Consultant, and SSA Global as a Technical Consultant.

Throughout their career, Felipe has demonstrated expertise in information security, risk management, internal control, and audit processes. Felipe has successfully led and implemented various initiatives to mitigate risks, improve controls, and strengthen security measures within organizations.

Felipe García Vivanco (MSM) has a diverse education history. In 2022, they attended the NYU Tandon School of Engineering for the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Program, focusing on Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance. From 2009 to 2011, Felipe pursued a Master's degree in Strategic Management (MSM) at Universidad de León. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems for Management at Tecnológico de Monterrey from 1999 to 2004. Felipe also obtained a Diploma in Consulting from SSA Global in 2003. For their earlier education, they attended Tecnológico de Monterrey for High School from 1995 to 1998 and completed their Elementary and Secondary education at Escuela Continental from 1985 to 1995.
