Husen Hasan has a diverse work experience. Husen started their career in 2010 as a Field Officer at Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG), where they focused on sensitizing the local community about forest conservation and implementing the REDD project. Husen provided training to village natural resources committees and conducted surveys to gather information about the people living adjacent to forest reserves. Husen also played a key role in monitoring and evaluating the project, as well as collecting and analyzing data.

In 2012, Husen joined Telerivet as a Country Manager. Unfortunately, the duration of their role is not specified.

Later in the same year, they became the Tanzania Program Manager at Envaya.org. In this position, Husen was responsible for building online and mobile tools for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and providing training and support to grassroots CSOs in Tanzania. Husen also managed relationships with strategic partners, coordinated Envaya's country program and operations, and worked to continually improve the technology and services offered by the organization.

Husen left Envaya.org in 2013.

Husen Hasan completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Science and Conservation from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) between 2006 and 2009.
