Dan Watley started their career in 1992 as a Research Engineer at Nortel Networks, where they worked until 2002. Dan then joined Sensornet, where they held multiple roles including Senior Research Engineer, Development Manager, Chief Technology Officer, and General Manager. Dan worked at Sensornet until 2014. After that, they joined Smartec as a General Manager from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, they joined Rockwell Automation as an Engineering Manager and worked there until 2018. Currently, Dan Watley is working at Teledyne e2v, where they have held roles including Head of Engineering Delivery, RF Power; Head of Engineering, Space Imaging; and currently, they hold the position of Director of Operations.

Dan Watley obtained a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, where they studied from 1993 to 2000.
