Yi Yao has a diverse work experience spanning over different industries and roles. They are currently working as a Senior QA Engineer at Teckro since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Hostelworld Group, where they held various positions. They started as a Software Development Engineer In Test from March 2017 to February 2019. Later, they became a Software QA Lead from October 2019 to November 2021, taking charge of developing the automation framework for iOS mobile applications and creating automated UI tests.

Before joining Hostelworld Group, Yi Yao worked as a QA Automation Engineer at Miniclip from September 2015 to February 2017. They also gained experience as an Optical System Integration & Verification Engineer at Coriant GmbH & Co. KG from May 2013 to August 2015, and at Nokia Siemens Networks from November 2012 to May 2013.

Additionally, Yi Yao began their career in the hospitality industry, working as a Waiter and Chef assistant at Wan Yao Nunes Restaurante LDA from 2004 to 2011.

Yi Yao obtained a Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico. This educational achievement occurred from 2010 to 2012.
