Yoelle Maarek is a seasoned researcher and executive in the technology sector, currently serving as Chief Researcher at the Technology Innovation Institute since January 2024. Prior to this role, Yoelle held the position of Vice President of Research for Alexa Shopping at Amazon from September 2017 to September 2023, and served as Vice President and Head of Research at Yahoo from 2014 to 2017, managing the transition from Yahoo Labs to Yahoo Research. Yoelle's early career included significant roles such as Engineering Director at Google, where the first Israeli engineering office was established, and various positions at IBM Haifa Research Lab, culminating as Department Group Manager. Yoelle earned a PhD in Computer Science from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and has an extensive background in research and innovation within major technology companies.
