Jessica Vernon has over a decade of experience in the marketing and communications industry. Jessica began their career in 2011 as an Advertising Sales Executive for The Local Palate - Food Culture of The South, where they launched a Southern food culture magazine, growing from local to regional distribution in less than one year. Jessica also worked as a Freelance Writer for La Isla Magazine, writing bilingual articles for a Hispanic news and lifestyle publication distributed throughout coastal Georgia and South Carolina. In 2014, Jessica worked as a Brand Manager for CHIMMI House of Design and as an Editorial Advisor and Freelance Writer for YEEWONG Women's Magazine. Jessica also served as a Guest Curator for TEDxYouth@Thimphu and a Public Relations Manager for Mountain Echoes Literary Festival. In 2015, Jessica founded jj.Vernon Creative, which works with startups and growing organizations providing content and marketing services. Jessica then worked as a Marketing Director for TechDad Inc. and a Freelance Marketing Consultant. In 2019, Jessica took on the role of Director of Strategic Partnerships and Marketing Director for Techmenity. Most recently, they founded Inspirada Creative in 2022, which encourages clients to think beyond their “why” statement to uncover the passion that fuels their business and articulate their purpose beyond profits.
Jessica Vernon obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Spanish Language and Literature from the College of Charleston in 2008, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communication and Media Studies from the same institution in 2008. Jessica also completed a Study Abroad program in Spanish Language and Literature at the Universidad de Granada from 2006 to 2007. In 2012, Jessica received a certification from TEFL Express to teach English as a Foreign Language (TESOL).
