Mark Zusman has had a long and distinguished career in the media and publishing industry. Mark began their career in 1983 as the Publisher and Editor of Willamette Week, an alternative weekly newspaper and website published in Portland, Oregon. In 2011, they founded TechFestNW, a premier tech conference on the upper left coast. In 1995, they co-founded MusicFestNW, a large urban music festival. From 2005 to 2007, they served as the Past President of the Association of Alternative Newsmedia, a trade association of alternative weekly newspapers in North America. Mark also served as the Past President of the Board of Directors of the Independent Media Institute from 2005 to 2007.
Mark Zusman received a B.A. in English from Hobart and William Smith Colleges between 1972 and 1976. Mark then pursued an M.S. in Journalism from the University of Oregon from 1977 to 1978.
