Byungkwon Kim began their career in 1996 as a Research Engineer at Hansol Telecom. Byungkwon then moved to Cellvic in 1999, where they worked as a Senior Research Engineer. In 2003, they joined INNOMTEK Ltd. as a Senior Research Engineer. In 2006, they moved to TecAce Solution., Inc. as a Senior Engineer. In 2009, they moved to TecAce Software Ltd. where they held various roles, including Senior Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer (Work as a contractor on SmartThings), Senior Software Engineer (Work as a contractor on Samsung Electric America), and Team Manager. During their time at TecAce Software Ltd., they worked on projects such as Dynamic Watchface Web/Wearable service, CareAce, Samsung M4S Screensaver Android app development, Samsung Developer Portal Development, Bank Of America Enterprise Platform Development, Samsung 360 Round camera Android client app, and GearHub.

Byungkwon Kim obtained a Bachelor of Computer Science from Inha University between 1990 and 1996.
