Barbara Hooper is Senior Executive Vice President, Treasury and Enterprise Strategy, TD Bank Group. In this capacity, Barbara is responsible for Corporate Development, Strategic Sourcing, Enterprise Real Estate and for TD's Treasury and Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) activities including liquidity, funding, investments, funds transfer pricing, capital management, asset-liability management, stress testing, resolution and recovery planning, and treasury operations.
Barbara joined TD in 1994 and spent her first 12 years at the Bank in the Wholesale Bank, taking on various client-facing roles within Fixed Income including in the areas of securitization and credit products. In 2006 she joined the Corporate Development team, playing an integral role in many important acquisitions in Canada and the U.S. and assuming leadership of the group in 2011. Barbara assumed responsibility for TBSM in 2015 as the Bank's Treasurer and later took on Strategic Sourcing in 2019 and Enterprise Real Estate in 2021.
Barbara holds an MBA from York University and a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto. She volunteers with United Way of Greater Toronto, a charity which creates opportunities for communities in the Greater Toronto Area, and Eva's Initiatives, an organization that provides safe shelter and services to Toronto's homeless and at-risk youth. In recognition of her pioneering career in Canadian banking, Barbara was named as one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women's Executive Network in 2018.
