Leo Alekseev has been working in the software development industry since 2011. From 2011-2012, they worked as a Frontend Developer at MTCS, where they coded HTML/CSS based on PSD files. From 2012-2015, they worked as a Software Developer at Indigena Solutions LP. From 2015-2018, they were a Frontend Engineer/JavaScript Developer at Starling Minds Inc., where they designed and implemented frontend functional and reactive architecture with Ember, designed and coded functional and UI components, built D3.js data visualizations, implemented internationalization, and implemented custom JSON serialization/deserialization algorithms. From 2018-2021, they worked as a Frontend Engineer/JavaScript Developer at Digitalist North America, where they coded with React and Angular, co-created Design Systems and component libraries, advocated for accessibility and Web standards, researched and applied various a11y principles and proper semantics, and figured out how to optimally test their opinions. Finally, since 2021, they have been working as a UI Engineer/JavaScript Developer at Tatari, where they have co-created a configurable Design System with accessibility in mind for eCommerce, co-created and battle tested an accessible eCommerce components library, and advocated for accessibility, semantics, and Web standards.
Leo Alekseev obtained a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Systems from the British Columbia Institute of Technology between 2011 and 2016, with a field of study in Human Computer Interaction. Leo also obtained a Bachelor of Engineering and Technology from the Khabarovsk State Institute of Technology between 2003 and 2007, with a field of study in Automation and Control. In addition, they obtained a Human-Computer Interaction certification from Coursera in November of 2012.
