Janina Mejia has been working in the software engineering field since 2015. Janina began their career as a Software Engineer at Smiths Detection, where they were responsible for the implementation of libraries and applications to allow for communication and control of various hardware devices used on the Smiths Detection CTX explosive detection systems. Janina was also the main contributor to a suite of software tools that allowed the manufacturing team to verify functionality of system hardware, primarily programming in C++ and Python on the Linux platform. Prior to this, they were a Machine Vision Intern at Morpho (SAFRAN) in 2014, creating scripts to measure system properties and to assess image quality while also executing experiments and gathering data on explosive detective system scanners. In 2012, Janina worked as an Audio/Video Technician at UC Davis Academic Technology Services, providing technical support to classrooms around the school campus and maintaining and repairing media equipment to ensure proper function during class hours. Janina currently works as a Software Engineer at Tatari.
Janina Mejia obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Davis between 2010 and 2014. In May 2014, they also obtained an Engineer-In-Training Certification from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.
