Kunal Sharan has a comprehensive work experience in the mining industry, primarily with Tata Steel. Kunal started their career in 2002 as a Senior Manager in Bokaro Division, where they managed the planning of three mines. In 2009, they moved to Tata Steel and took on the role of Senior Manager in an underground coal mine, where they oversaw mining operations and managed various aspects of the mine's operations. In 2011, they became the Head of Sijua Colliery, responsible for the total operation and safety of the coal mine. Kunal then joined Tata Steel Limited as the Head of Safety in 2016, where they implemented safety strategies and conducted incident analysis. Most recently, since 2019, they have been the Head of Operations at Tata Steel, playing a key role in overseeing the operations of the company.
Kunal Sharan has a diverse education history in the field of Mining. In 1994, they completed their 12th grade at DAV Model School, focusing on English, Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Following that, they attended Nagpur University from 1996 to 2000, earning a Bachelor's degree (B.E.) in Mining.
