Michelle Campbell-Ward is an accomplished veterinary professional with extensive experience in animal welfare and medicine. Currently serving as a member of the NSW Animal Welfare Advisory Council since December 2023, Campbell-Ward also holds positions as an Associate Professor in Wildlife and Avian Medicine at the University of Sydney and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Charles Sturt University. Additionally, Campbell-Ward has been a veterinarian with the Taronga Conservation Society Australia since November 2008 and serves as a consultant for the Veterinary Information Network. Previous roles include Team Leader of Animal Welfare Policy and Program at the NSW Department of Primary Industries, Chairperson of the NSW Exhibited Animals Advisory Committee, and Co-convenor of the Zoo and Aquarium Association Veterinary Specialist Advisory Group. Campbell-Ward's foundational education includes a BSc BVSc (Hons I) from the University of Sydney and a Postgraduate Certificate in International Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law from the University of Edinburgh.
