Michele Potter, PhD, is a self-employed writer and photographer with extensive experience in exploring themes of nature and culture through personal and scholarly writing. Since 1996, Michele has also served as a ski instructor at Taos Ski Valley, Inc. and taught English and American Studies at the University of New Mexico until 2017, while actively participating as a presenter and panelist at Literature and Environment conferences for over 20 years. Michele earned a PhD in American Studies from The University of New Mexico between 1997 and 2008, and holds two Master of Arts degrees in Creative Writing from Rutgers University, achieved from 1990 to 1994.
