Benjamin Allen has been working in the technology industry since 2009. Benjamin started their career as the Co-Founder and CTO at Protabit LLC in 2009. In 2013, they moved to Penn State University, where they held three roles: Research Assistant Professor in Engineering Science and Mechanics, Research Assistant Professor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Research Associate and Huck Institute Fellow in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In 2020, they joined Tandem Repeat as the Chief Technology Officer.

Benjamin Allen attended Pomona College from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. Benjamin then went on to pursue a PhD in Chemistry at Caltech, which they completed in 2009.
