Head Of Computational Biology And Data Science at Tally Health

Maxim Shokhirev has extensive experience in the field of bioinformatics and genomics. Maxim is currently serving as the Head of Bioinformatics at Tally Health since March 2022. Prior to this role, Maxim worked as an Independent Contractor at Novo Nordisk from April 2021 to November 2022.

Maxim's previous experience includes working at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, where they held various roles from September 2014 to March 2022. Maxim started as a Bioinformatics Analyst I and eventually became the Senior Director of the Integrative Genomics and Bioinformatics Core. In this position, they led a team of Ph.D. professionals and played a crucial role in the development and implementation of bioinformatics strategies.

Additionally, Maxim worked as an Independent Contractor at NanoCellect Biomedical, Inc. in 2016. Here, they collaborated with engineers, biologists, and programmers to develop interactive software for cell sorting and flow cytometry.

Earlier in their career, Maxim was a Graduate Student at the University of California, San Diego. Maxim focused on computational and experimental methodologies for analyzing biological data and developing tools for understanding immune cell decision-making processes.

Maxim Shokhirev completed their high school education at Catalina Foothills High School in Tucson, AZ. Maxim then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, as well as Computer Science at the University of Arizona from 2004 to 2008. Following this, they went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology from UC San Diego between 2008 and 2014.
