Esther Maina currently serves as a Compliance and Risk Officer at TalkRemit, where responsibilities include collaborating with the Compliance & Risk team to identify and evaluate compliance risks and working with local AML enforcement agencies on financial crime matters. Prior to this role, Esther worked at Sendwave as a Senior Customer Support Representative, assisting users with technical issues and ensuring a smooth signup process. Esther also contributed to customer service initiatives at Zepz and KCB Bank Group, with experience in enhancing customer experiences and managing inquiries. Early career experience includes a Public Relations Internship with the Ministry of East Africa Affairs, Commerce, and Tourism, where responsibilities involved fact-checking and preparing press recaps. Esther holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Nairobi.
