Haroon Yasin started Taleemabad in 2015 to address the lack of engaging educational content in the Pakistani market. The organization produced a learning series and developed the Taleemabad Learning App, an adaptive learning platform. At Akhuwat-e-Awam, Yasin founded a school for slum children and taught there personally for over two years. The experience at the school sparked their passion for teaching and highlighted the shortcomings in the education system.
Haroon Yasin pursued their education in a diverse range of fields. Haroon started their educational journey at Beaconhouse School System from 2009 to 2011, where they obtained their A levels in History, Literature, Economics, Physics, Maths, and Chemistry. In 2011, Haroon Yasin enrolled at the University of Waterloo for a Bachelor of Engineering degree, but it appears that they left the program before completing it. Later that same year, they joined Georgetown University and studied there until 2013, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Politics. Additionally, Haroon Yasin acquired a certification in Leading Change and Entrepreneurship/Systems Change from the University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education, although the specific month and year of its attainment are not provided.
