Rachel Speechley began their work experience as a Day Camp Coordinator for the City of London, Canada, from June 2014 to August 2016. Rachel then worked as the Coordinator of Volunteer Programs for Habitat for Humanity Chile from an unspecified date in 2016 to 2018. In 2020, Rachel had a role in the Convention on Biological Diversity at the UN Environment Programme from January to April. Following that, they joined Radicle in August 2021 as a Data and Research Analyst, where they worked until November 2022. Currently, Rachel is a Project Manager at Taking Root, starting in November 2022. Their responsibilities at Taking Root involve accelerating the restoration of the world's forests and enabling smallholder farmers to grow trees and earn money through carbon removal from the atmosphere.
Rachel Speechley has a Master of Science degree in Environment and Development from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Rachel also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hispanic Studies with a minor in Sociology from McGill University. In addition, Rachel has a Grado in Lenguas, literatura y lingüÃstica hispánicas y latinoamericanas from Universidad de Granada.
