Kevin Kung

Co-founder and CTO at Takachar

Kevin Kung has a long and varied work experience. In 2005, they began as a Research Assistant at the Department of Physics at Princeton University. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Cambridge, a Tutor for Chemistry and Physics at McGraw Study Halls at Princeton University, and a Research Fellow at the Department of Physics at the Technical University of Munich. In 2010, they returned to MIT as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant for the Biological Engineering Department. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Researcher at the MIT Senseable City Lab, a Fellow for the Waste Innovations Group at the MIT Tata Center for Technology and Design, and a PhD Candidate at the MIT Reacting Gas Dynamics Group and the Center for 21st Century Energy. From 2015 to 2018, they were a Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Safi Organics Ltd. and a Co-founder and CTO of Takachar.

Kevin Kung obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics with certificates in Biophysics and Engineering Physics from Princeton University between 2004 and 2008. Kevin then went on to pursue a Master of Philosophy degree in Physics from the University of Cambridge from 2008 to 2009. Following this, they completed a Master of Science degree in Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 2009 and 2012. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biofuels and Renewable Energy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Department of Biological Engineering between 2013 and 2017. Additionally, they hold an EMT-Basic certification from the Massachusetts OEMS.
