Jun Nunes has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting from 2022, they have been working as the Director of New Product Planning at Taiho Oncology, Inc. Prior to that, they worked at Guidehouse from 2015 to 2021, holding various roles such as Associate Director, Managing Consultant, and Senior Consultant.

Before joining Guidehouse, Jun Nunes was a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research from 2013 to 2015. During this time, they focused on conducting postdoctoral research on melanoma and identifying a novel resistant mechanism to a targeted combination therapy. Their research involved the use of pre-clinical tumor models.

From 2006 to 2012, Jun Nunes was a Ph.D. Student at Harvard University's Division of Medical Sciences, Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Their research concentrated on a life-threatening hereditary vascular disease and they established the connection between a vascular-specific cell-surface receptor and a major cancer signaling pathway.

Additionally, Jun Nunes has also gained teaching experience. Jun worked as a Class Tutor and Lab Teaching Assistant at Harvard Medical School's Office for Diversity Inclusion & Community Partnership from 2010 to 2012. Jun also served as a Teaching Assistant for a Cell Biology Course at Harvard Medical School from January to May 2010.

During their undergraduate studies at Grinnell College, Jun Nunes held several roles including Mentored Advanced Project Student, Biology Course Mentor and Lab Teaching Assistant, and member of the Biology Student Educational Policy Committee. Jun also conducted summer research and contributed to a peer-reviewed publication.

Furthermore, Jun Nunes has experience as a Membership Chair of Mortar Board and worked as a Summer Research Student at Indiana University Health and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Jun Nunes obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from Grinnell College in 2006. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Cell and Developmental Biology (The Division of Medical Sciences) at Harvard University, completing their education in 2012.
