John Seo has worked in the telecommunications industry for several years, with a focus on estimating project costs and managing variation claims. John started their career at Ventia Pty Ltd in 2016 as an Estimator, where they were responsible for estimating project costs for various telecommunication tenders. John also played a role in decision-making regarding whether to bid on projects and procuring internal resources and subcontractors. In 2018, they took on the role of Quantity Surveyor, where they handled over 300 legitimate variation claims primarily related to FTTH and Fibre Backbone Projects. John'sresponsibilities included identifying variations and investigating potential variations through subcontractor claims and comparing design documents. In 2022, they joined Taihan Fiberoptics Co., Ltd. in a Sales and Business Development role.

John Seo attended Westlake Boys High School from 2006 to 2008, where they did not earn a degree or pursue a specific field of study. After completing high school, they attended The University of Auckland from 2009 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology and Chemistry. Following this, John Seo continued their education at The University of Auckland from 2013 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Commercial Law (Taxation).
