Meaghan Whalen is an experienced fundraising professional with a strong focus on building philanthropic relationships and supporting nonprofit organizations. Meaghan currently serves as the Director of Individual Giving at the Tahirih Justice Center, where they are responsible for cultivating relationships with individual donors. Prior to this role, Meaghan worked at Food & Friends as a Major Gifts Officer, where they built relationships with philanthropically-minded individuals to support the organization's mission of delivering medically-tailored meals to those facing serious illness. Before that, they served as the Assistant Director of Development at Jesuit Refugee Service, where they focused on relationship building to support a $35 million campaign for educational opportunities for refugees. Meaghan also held positions at WXPN as the Associate Director of Major Gifts, where they connected culturally-minded individuals with supporting artists and non-commercial radio, and at Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School as both Assistant Director of Development and Development Associate, where they supported fundraising activities and managed volunteers. Additionally, they gained experience as an Administrative Coordinator and Administrative Associate at the Family Resource Center Association, where they managed donor databases, coordinated special events, and handled communications. Meaghan began their career as a Case Manager Assistant at AIDS Foundation Houston, where they managed and supported clients in a transitional housing facility. Meaghan also gained experience as an Intern at Allied Advertising Agency, where they developed partnerships, coordinated events, and filed reports. In their early career, they served as a Development Intern at Children's Miracle Network, where they managed donor databases, recruited and managed volunteers, and cultivated individual donors. Meaghan Whalen, CFRE, completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Non Profit Leadership and Political Science at Rockhurst University from 2005 to 2009. In May 2009, they obtained the American Humanics certification. Later, in December 2018, Meaghan earned their CFRE Certification from CFRE International.
