Jim Tanner has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Jim began their career in 1991 as President and CEO of Wall Street On Demand. In 1998, they became General Manager of eBridge North America at Bridge Information Systems. In 2010, they moved to IHS Markit as Vice Chairman of Business Development and Global Head of Distribution. Here, they created the "F2" open specification. In 2013, they joined Morningstar as Chief Innovation Officer and Global Head of Business Development and Sales. Finally, in 2017, they founded Taffrail.

Jim Tanner attended Haverford College from 1978 to 1982, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Language and Literature. Jim then attended Harvard Business School from 1984 to 1986, where they earned an MBA.
