Russell Ives has a diverse work experience in the aerospace industry. Russell started their career in 2000 as a Design Engineer at Alloy Yachts, where they worked until 2003. Following that, they joined Air New Zealand as an Aeronautical Engineer, working there until 2008. In 2008, they began working at TAE Aerospace, starting as an Engineering Design Manager and later progressing to the role of Engineering Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Engineer at TAE Aerospace, which they started in April 2021.
Russell Ives completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics from the University of Canterbury between 1994 and 1996. Russell then pursued further education and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors (BE(Hons)) in Mechanical Engineering from the same university from 1997 to 1999.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Russell Ives also holds two professional certifications. In July 2012, they obtained the Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) certification from Engineers Australia. Russell also received the Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) certification from The Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland during the same period.
