Chelsea Amato is an experienced public health professional with a focus on harm reduction and hepatitis education. Currently serving as the Opioid Task Force Coordinator at Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department since March 2021, Chelsea previously held the role of Harm Reduction Senior Advisor at Hepatitis Education Project and worked as a Harm Reduction Specialist at New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Chelsea's early career included positions such as Help-4-Hep Peer Counselor at Hepatitis C Association and Shift Leader at The People's Harm Reduction Alliance, where significant contributions were made towards distributing harm reduction equipment and educating communities. Chelsea's background in social work, with a Bachelor’s Degree from Wheelock College and further studies at the University of Washington, underpins a commitment to supporting marginalized populations through innovative health initiatives.
